How Nevada calculates the 1–5 star rating every public and charter school receives, and what the index score actually measures.
The Nevada School Performance Framework
The NSPF is how Nevada rates its public and charter schools on a 1–5 star scale.
What Goes into a Star Rating
- Academic Achievement (proficiency in ELA, Math, Science)
- Academic Growth (year-over-year progress)
- Closing Opportunity Gaps
- Graduation Rate (high schools)
- College & Career Readiness (high schools)
- Student Engagement (chronic absenteeism)
The Index Score
Each school earns points out of 100. Higher is better; 5-star schools generally sit above 80.
